Description
KEY FACTS
This Jaguar E-Type Series 1 4.2 2+2 FHC is an elegantly styled classic grand tourer, finished in a sleek colour scheme.
Under the bonnet sits a naturally aspirated 4.2-litre straight-six, delivering around 265bhp to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission.
First registered in the USA in 1966, this left-hand drive E-Type was imported into the UK and re-registered with the DVLA in September 2016, and has been with the seller since.
The car has been stored in a Carcoon during the seller’s custody, which will be included in the sale.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
This E-Type is finished in Opalescent Silver Grey, over a black leather-trimmed cabin.
It rides on a set of 15-inch wire wheels, secured with twin-eared knock-offs and fitted with Michelin tyres.
Equipment includes a wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, Smiths gauges, a row of rocker switches for the car’s auxiliary functions, push-out rear quarter light windows, and a push-button Blaupunkt radio.
The car will be supplied with its owner’s manuals, a parts catalogue, the V5, its import paperwork, a Wyoming certificate of title, some technical documents, its Jaguar Heritage Trust certificates, a Haynes workshop manual, a Carcoon storage system, and a collection of invoices.
CONDITION
Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition.
Specific notes from the seller include: a minor dent to the right-side wing; there is evidence of a rust bubble underneath the rear chrome bumper in the right-rear wheel arch, measuring approximately 0.5 x 2.0cm; the seats and carpets have been retrimmed; the new Alcantara headlining was incorrectly installed, whereby the underlying foam that protects the interior from condensation was not removed – To fix this issue it will cost 900€/VAT included; the dash clock doesn’t work.
The car’s last MOT test was conducted on 16 June 2016 at an indicated 35,568 miles, resulting in a second-time pass with no advisories.
SERVICE HISTORY
This E-Type’s most recent routine maintenance was carried out in July 2025 at 36,700 miles, which included an engine oil, oil filter, gearbox oil, coolant, and brake fluid sender change.
During the seller’s custody, the coolant hoses, brake and clutch master cylinders, battery, ignition coil, HT leads, distributor assembly, fan belt, exhaust manifold, SU fuel pump and various fuel pipes have been replaced.
